Are you fasting for Ramadan?
Post Body

Hello everyone, I have a question for Muslims in this sub (if there are any? Haha)

Are you fasting for Ramadan this year? If yes, how do you go about taking meds? Is it any different than pre-diagnosis?

Thanks, and Ramadan kareem!

I was raised catholic, and we practiced old school lent. Also started meds at 12. For my family, we fasted during the day and observed all meal restrictions.

I had to eat with my meds as well (less so today) I ate a small breakfast (toast with spread) before dawn and ate in the evening with my family, dosing again.

I remember this working for me as far as sleep, but I was less severe then compared to later in life.

I suggest this method and “feeling out” how you feel. If you cannot maintain your fast/sleep, please consider other ways to maintain your thoughtfulness during Ramadan. I am woefully unfamiliar with this observance, but meditation with intent is always an option.

We also fasted before mass. I had to stop this observance though, I would have been taking my morning meds far too late in the day.
