Were you on antipsychotics for a year after mania/psychosis?

To be clear, this is something that should be tended to at the direction of a doctor!!! I’m just wondering how long people take AP’s for after they had mania with psychotic features. I’m going on 6 months having been on risperidone, then olanzapine, now abilify, and am suffering from major avolition and anhedonia. I’m kind of at a loss of if this is recovery, or if this is because of the abilify, and am planning on asking my doctor what our end goal is since my delusional thinking ended 5 months ago. I was wondering what other people’s experience was? I see that people with first episode psychosis tend to stay on for a year, and that schizoaffective bipolar tend to benefit greatly from sustained use of antipsychotics, is mania with psychotic features any different in the length of time needed to prevent another psychotic episode? I also see some people only take the AP’s as long as they are manic. First, sorry this is long, and second, thank you for anyone for sharing their experience! Again, regardless of my questions please follow your prescriber’s advice and I hope you all are doing well :)
