what is the numbness that I get from screen-time and how can I get it in healthier ways?

Massive amounts of screen-time are a mental painkiller, a conscious numbing agent. Life gets too loud for me at times. What else can do this?

Yoga, meditation and other conscious practices make life more peaceful but they also make it come alive, sometimes I just want to feel nothing for a while. Exercise makes me feel fantastic, energized etc. but it's very alive too. I love all these things, but I still want some numbness at times.

Ideally this thing might avoid the downsides of screentime: anxiety, sleep disruption, etc.
