Post Body

Personal Summary: To give you a background on myself, I am a 29yo male, MIT graduate, my work is heavily quantitative, fast paced, and communication heavy. Many of my conversations are based on measurements and numbers. I'm an ESTP on the Myers Briggs test. I exercise a lot, and would consider myself "in shape".

My life recently has been very "up in the air" -- my wife and I are having a difficult time conceiving, I'm caring for a parent with dementia. I am also looking for a new job, and it is not going well, mostly due to procrastination and ahedonia. I have Testosterone in the 400s and may have a varicocele, which can cause low T and therefore affect mood and cognition. Still, I feel pretty good about myself and my life, even without noots.

I've tried different noots over the years, but recently I was looking for something to bring me out of my "funk".

Experience:

• Bacopa (Standard dosage, taken for 6 mo.): After one month of use at the usual dosage, my memory definitely improved. No acute effect, but I was able to recall sequences of numbers more easily, with a greater degree of accuracy and certainty. Unfortunately I had to stop taking because it lowers sperm count, and I am trying to have a kid. • Methylfolate (Standard dosage, taken for 3 days): Started a few days ago, no perceptible effect so far. Will update in a few weeks. • Ashwagandha (1000mg 3/5 KSM-66 blend taken for 2 mo.): The closest thing I can compare this to is that it makes me feel like the main guy in Office Space. I no longer have a problem saying "no" to things I don't want to do. Seems to help with my lifting as well, over time. • L-Theanine Caffeine (100mg caffeine, 200 mg L-T): Bought the combined pill and keep them on my nightstand. I take it the second my alarm goes off. Within 5 minutes I'm out of bed, easy breezy lemon squeeze. Super smooth, no jitters. Wears off around noon and I have a coffee. The coffee without the l-theanine is noticeably less focused energy. • Magnesium (500mg chelate before bed, taken for 4 days): I've been so stiff for months, and could not figure out what was wrong... it was ANNOYING. Stretching, rollers, etc, nothing worked. It couldn't be magnesium, I said, that shit is in my mutlivitamin! WRONG. On a whim I got the magnesium chelate and took 500mg before bed, and I am a new man. I have no idea if it has had any effect on my brain, but sleeping better and waking up without a sore back does wonders for your work, I can tell you that! • Noopept (experimented with 2, 4, 6 squirts taken nasally, over the past 3 days, in the morning): Music sounds a little better, I guess? No real difference IMHO, at least in the acute sense. I'll keep going with it and report back. Edit: I did feel some irritability/sarcasm, as some of you have noted, but I figured people around me were just being annoying haha. • Semax (4 squirts, nasally, yesterday afternoon): This shit is the shit!! This is what I wish weed and alcohol felt like! I was chill, listened to music, got work done, didn't want to procrastinate, planned a trip, flirted with my wife as she cooked dinner... it just felt like my day was "ON". My ahedonia was gone. I hope this shit isn't dangerous because it is awesome. Subtle, but palpable.

Hopefully this is interesting to you, or can possibly help you in some way. Let me know if I should try out anything else, I'm open to experimentation. I have Zinc on order right now, and I'm also planning to try microdosing soon.
