When you get a colonoscopy the doc gives you this substance to drink and you wind up shitting your guts out for 24 hrs. this is to get your bowels 100% clean for the the camera.
What about using that prep to clean out your bowels and resetting your microbiome? After you clean out your bowels you would be then eating a diet that is specifically designed to build up the microbiome. So the c. prep gives you a nice clean slate to rebuilt your microbiome from.
At that point you are eating lots of fermented foods, your favorite probiotics, lots and lots of fiber especially resistant starch, prebiotic foods, fruits and veggies, etc.
In fact it would be the perfect way to do FMT if you have that option.
