Short and long term goals

I have been given advice to set some goals while I’m working in public accounting. Something to work towards so when times are tough and I’m wondering what the heck am I doing this for, I can think of my goals and realise that’s I’m not doing this for no reason.
But my question is, what are some good short term and long term goals to work towards as an associate, senior or manager?
