I believe the Bible clearly contradicts biblical literalism. Let’s discus.
Post Body

Whenever the Bible gives an account of god speaking to a human being in any detail it is absolutely wild, as it should be. Our protagonist is so often at their end, prepared to give up all hope, when the sky opens up and an angel appears as a messenger sent by god or alternatively god speaks through an avatar like the burning bush speaking to Mosses. So first of all, god uses these types of intermediaries to speak to humans because our human minds would never be capable of comprehending a direct look at god. Second, even this intermediary buffer, the experience is still totally overwhelming for the human receiving the message. Depictions of angels with white robes and wings and soft human facial features are much more palatable than the description of angels in the Old Testament as flaming interlocking weals in the sky with thousands of eyes. So what we have in the Bible is a consistent message: an encounter with god, or more likely an intermediary messenger or avatar of god, is as profound as it is incomprehensible to our tiny human brains. The consistent message of the Bible is that we must humble ourselves.

Those in the Bible who received Devine revelation did their best to retain as much as they could from such an overwhelming experience and then translate to others in flimsy human language what had been revealed to them. Then the oral recounting of these experiences were passed down through many people, then written down, then translated through many languages before finally a copy of the Bible written in your native language was placed in your hands.

The Bible is just a copy of a copy of a copy of a copy of other people’s first hand accounts of encounters with messengers of god which they themselves struggled to fully process. In many cases disciples of Devine revelation literally fought with or fled from the angelic messengers out of confusion and fear before they opened their ears to the message.

How could anybody read these stories and then claim absolute knowledge of god’s plan from the text alone? How could anyone place their reading of a translation of someone else’s encounter with a messenger of god on the same level as actually having such a first hand encounter themselves.

Edit: for clarity since I feel some people have misinterpreted me, I am in no way attaching the value of studying, analyzing, and debating the texts. I am just suggesting that it seems ridiculous and egotistical, the opposite of the humbled posture we are consistently told by the text to take, to ever declare an absolute and unchanging final understanding of the written word of god because how could the written word ever capture the magnitude and depth of the actual lives experiences of those who revived direct inspiration with the messengers of god.
