INSIGHT ON EXODUS – Exodus 1
Post Body
I am reading the book of Exodus and I have thoughts and questions. I would like to share them and hope to get responses from the community. Thank you in advance.
Questions
- Since Egypt was not the Promised Land, was it a matter of time that something would happen to make God to take the Israelites from Egypt? I guess Pharoah was a conduit..
- I wish Pharaoh had asked questions about the Israelites instead of his instinct to fear. But it seems that the people of Israel did not even know the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
- I think this because Moses had to reveal God’s name to them and why did they never look for the land of honey and milk that was promised to them...
Thoughts
- I think Pharaoh was scared of the Israelites because he saw something that he could not understand. Pharaoh saw the blessings of God on the Israelites. He must have been scared when he asked that they give them more labour but they still flourished.
- Reading exodus chapter one really tells us about Pharaohs personality and why God knew his heart would be hard. Pharaoh was wicked, killed the newborns cause of fear; he was paranoid, he just assumed that people who have been living in a place for years would just team up with his enemies and destroy him.
The first chapter is really clear in telling me about God’s love (protecting the new born sons) and faithfulness.
