I got into an altercation right now as I was filling air in my car. The car in front of me decided to park a little ahead blocking the road to take a call. When the machine attendant asked him to move the person in the car (who looked like an educated person) came out and aggressively started yelling that because he has filled petrol he can park wherever he wants. As I tried to reason with him saying you can’t park on the thoroughfare he was like who said so, I will park wherever I want. Then the person in the car behind me joined the scene and started yelling at me why I can’t just reverse the car and cut my way out, when I tried to explain to him why it is wrong I was verbally abused. I moved my car out of the way when the two people who created this ruckus got together and abused me & the staff. I have lived in this city for a majority of my life and now I have returned after a decade stint of living outside, I am truly surprised at the level of entitlement that has creeped in. There is so much rash driving on the road that many times it feels you miss hitting someone, the number of times I have had to navigate people overtaking on the left when I have given the indicator is shocking to say the least. We can claim all the accolades we want but if we do not display basic civic sense its a hollow triump at best.
