Blurb: Nothing worth fighting for is one easily. Diego Ramirez had made explicitly sure that this was a phrase engraved on his soul as he would need it to win back the one to which he is mated. Nine years ago Diego met his mate, the werewolf Alpha of the Silver Fangs pack, Liz Vandalia. Unfortunately, a few months later he was cast out of the pack, not because she didn't love him, Diego knew this. Her fear of the Virus: A horrible disease that made werewolves feral, and brought them horrible pain on their death. She nearly killed him nine years ago, but Diego swore to fight for them. When he left, he copied the unfinished formula of a cure, to complete it. Now he must return to pack for the final step.
Liz Vandalia had spent nine years painfully holding herself back, denying the bond she and Diego shared as mates, but she did it for him. Which made it frustrating when he comes back as a genius biochemist who has nearly finished the bloody cure. For her people, and maybe herself, she cannot refuse him. However, it did mean Liz had to protect him from both herself and those who would sabotage him.
Hope and hardship lay down the path that Diego and Liz must take, only together can these past lovers succeed as they face the Virus, gutless enemies, and each other.
