Guest stole my F**** car**

Guest came in smelling faintly of weed pretty normal I don’t care as long as you don’t smoke in the room. Guest is staying under a friends shiny tear number. Whoops card declines the screen tells me the card is suspected of fraud

I tell the guest before I can give him a key I need a valid card inserted in my card reader. He sits around for about 15-20 minutes strikes up a conversation with me a few times.

Another guest calls asking for assistance in the room it’s 5 o’clock I’m the only one hear I go up and when I come back down he’s gone.

Towards the end of my shift at 11pm I start to get ready to leave but can’t find my keys I go to check and see if I left them in the car, I’ve done that before and I’m in a pretty safe area so I don’t tend to worry about it. A different car is sitting where I parked.

It was a weird situation because I knew for a fact that’s where I parked. I walk the parking lot, my cars nowhere to be found. I think back to my one shady guest I had today. Like a dumbass I left my car keys on the desk and Fraud alert man must’ve swiped them and my car.

I call the police and try to call management and let them know but of course management is asleep. I got it all situated with the police; let them know about fraud alert man. And sent a text that my manager will love waking up to. Luckily got a ride from a friend home.

It’s funny not only is this my last week at a job I’ve had for over 4 years but I was covering someone else’s shift.

Guest Stole My Car: Update

Not so much a part 2 or epilogue to the story really an update. To answer some quick questions; yes I noticed the similarities to Clerks. I did have a house key on my key ring luckily I live at home with my parents and my father works for a home security company and one of his coworkers was able to change our locks this afternoon and we have a pretty good alarm system already. We do have cameras at the hotel however they were not recording the night of the incident, ( apparently they are on a cycle to record every other day). This sucks because even though I knew the name of the "guest" who took the keys police can't get a warrant without the video. Police said that because it was the weekend no one would be able to talk to me again till Monday. We've reached out to them every day anyway still no update and we were told to expect a phone call that still hasn't come. Insurance called to tell me they would reach out today then didn't which I just find funny.

I am very lucky, I've been able to drive my parent's car, and even though the officer offered me a ride my friend was already there to take me home and help talk to my parents. I don't think ill post a third part unless they find the car. Wish me luck, my last day is Thursday.

Edit: I think everyone is taking the wrong point from the camera situation all I was trying to get across was that I don’t have the video. My manager is a close personal friend and WOULD NEVER SCREW ME OVER LIKE SOME OF YOU ARE IMPLYING. I will fallow up with my dad about what he thinks about the camera situation though. My manager is simply not tech savvy and doesn’t really know that well what’s going on with the cameras and I don’t blame her as I said with the first post we’re in a safe area and don’t need to use the cameras often. So yeah I have no intention to sue my employer or anything.
