Is there a way to not get a delayed order canceled?

I ordered the Xbox Series X last Sunday morning. It was supposed to arrive today & never did. I just got an email a few minutes ago that said "We're sorry, we're working on it. If we can't get it to the store by Sat, December 5, we'll let you know and cancel the order." If there isn't a way to prevent the cancelation, then will we get early dibs on another order time (so maybe its possible to beat the bots to it)
