I recently placed an order on the backordered rtx 2080 for $850. Bestbuy pre authorized my card and after a few days it fell off. I just received a notice from my bank that bestbuy is trying to pre authorize another $850 on my card.

I called the customer support and spoke with a man who didnt speak very good English and he told me bestbuy will continue to pre authorize $850 every week until the item ships.

I was under the impression they charge you at the time of the order and when the order ships, not every week. If they pre authorize every week they essentially tie up $850 of mine for the next month. Is this correct? Thanks.
