Delays in shipping normal?

So I ordered a Surface Pro 9 from the website on Thursday, April 11th, and the website tells me it will ship by Monday, April 15th. We'll, today I get an email saying that "There has been a delay" and they don't know when it will ship, but if it doesnt ship by April 29th, I will be refunded.

I was hoping I'd have this item this week, but I'm thinking now they don't have any and I'll eventually be refunded.

Any way to use this to my advantage (discount on a different one, etc), or should I just sit and wait? My other option is to go to a different Pro 9 (it was between an i5/16GB/256 or an i7/16GB/256. I picked the i5 because it will have better battery life.
