Now if there was only a large group of individuals show stood up against the same form of tactics who maintained their sense of selves that inspire people everyday to do the same....but man...such a group would be impossible to find :I
That last statement sort of just invalidated everything you said previously, because it's an admission that doing it that way is not working. Look at the people of influence coming out lately from tabletop gaming supporting them and denouncing us, even when the evidence is clear for them to see that we're not even talking about what they're denouncing us for! They don't care. They won't even give us the time of day, because we've been successfully suppressed by the media; the regressive's tool. Sure we make gains every now and then, but it seems like those gains are only temporary and in the end, they come out even stronger and louder.
We win a court case? They get a law passed. A teacher gets her comeuppance and a stern talking to for pushing an agenda-ridden assignment? Oh well that's nice, a Muslim who benefits under that agenda got 30 days community service for raping a young girl in Sweden, and men in college get their lives destroyed under that agenda because a girl he knew decided to lie. The number of institutions we see in the news that come out in dissent of the regressive ideology is an exception, when it should be the norm. People quake in their boots whenever they're asked a question about "privilege" for fear of answering "wrongly", and then to re-assert their social position they say something stupid like "not being a feminist is being sexist" (lookin' at you, Maisie).
I'm not saying Gamergate (or the entire counter movement against the regressives) needs to stop what it's doing, or change what it's doing into something else, but we need to add onto it. We need to go further, we need to get more aggressive. Diplomacy alone isn't going to solve this, we need to back that diplomacy up. If they won't let us be civil, then we'll show them what happens when they won't. If they won't let us speak, then we FORCE them to listen. They don't need facts to back up their beliefs? Then we pry their eyes open a-la Clockwork Orange and bash the facts in their faces until their noses bleed. Stop capitulating, start standing up for yourselves.
We might not like what they have to say, and we will defend their right to say it, but we need to defend OUR right to say it, too! And you can't do that with kid gloves!
