I have a Berner who is about 2.5 years old and I have had him for about 6 months. When I got him as a rescue, we had to basically shave him because of all the dreadlocks and matting that he had going on. We have been letting his hair grow to get that “doodle” look and have been trying to keep up on maintenance ourselves (I have to admit, I’m proud of my skills that I have developed) but he has SUPER curly fur, which is fantastic in its own way, but I would like for him to have a “doodle” face, which includes the front muzzle being combed down over his mouth. The top of his muzzle is SO CURLY and I can’t get it to stay down which affects his vision imo. Is there any product that is safe to apply to make this hair on his nose-parts stay down or is there a cutting technique that I’m unaware of? Does anyone else have this problem? Should I just let it keep growing until it gets long enough to stay down on its own?
