ok, potentially controversial topic time.

So, our ever changing societal and individual standards of beauty effect our lives daily. This (to me at least) also applies to Berghain. this got me thinking, how do you perceive others and your own beauty when in Berghain? Do you find that this is your place to shine and attract all eyes, do you not really care and barely think about how others look or are you actively aware that you compare yourself to others in a negative way. I find myself alternating between the three, some days i feel very good about my body and others i feel surrounded by exceptionally chiselled bodies, sleek shapes with sharp faces dancing and glistening in the lights of the main room. Almost as if i were surrounded by a convergence of super models. It also made me think about pretty privilege and how it clearly is a factor in how some people/groups act entitled towards others. For example skipping lines, general rudeness, not wanting to pay full price for things...etc. Taking a space meant for everyone, of all shapes, sizes and appearances into a direction more meant just for the most stunning people who also potentially enjoy the space for different reasons. This is not to say that i don't enjoy the appearance of beautiful people, that if you are objectively beautiful it is a bad thing as well as that i find i am not beautiful myself, in my own way, yet it's always a very noticeable thing for me. Also that this perceived idealised idea of beauty is only one slice of how one can be beautiful in a non confirmative way and still have the same privilege. I'm really interested to see what people think and feel, their experiences, if there is any difference between Pano, The main room, Lab and other clubs if so wish.
