The first party that takes place on the international women*s day at BH (bank holiday in Berlin) is coming up next Tuesday, March 7th.
I have talked to quite a few people about it and many are excited about this. I know that the announcement says "all genders welcome" and this post is not about exclusion per se.
If you are a (straight [edited]) CIS MALE person thinking about going to this party, please reflect for yourselves whether you really want and need to come. I am really encouraging you to reflect and honor this space for FLINTA for once. You can have parties 364 days a year, let us have that, please.
This post is coming not just from me as an individual, I have talked to so many people (mainly ppl identifying themselves as female) inside and outside hain and I always got the same quote: I wish it was an all female / FLINTA party. So what I am actually asking you is to respect the wishes of the female community when it comes to this very special event. If you're still coming, that's fine, you can buy us drinks (joke-alert to calm off the situation๐๐).
For clarification [edit]: I know that there is a gay cis male community out there who fought for their position in our society and is still being discriminated against to this day. I also honor the place that is Berghain and its history and meaning to the gay community. This is not about taking space away, it's more about sharing, I guess.
