Hi folks. I have a friend who’s on UC and PIP. This is the extent of his income.
Currently he’s bedbound and unable to cook. He’s also a wheelchair user to cooking is extremely difficult for him at the best of times.
He was recently assessed by social care and was given the option for a hot meal a day. On their website they say they cater to all sorts of dietary requirements. For my friend this would be vegan with an onion allergy.
He’s been told that’s not something they can provide and it’s been left at that. They’ve offered him to submit a complaint but I don’t know what else to do for him.
The only reason he could take this service on was that it was heavily subsidised, other options are too expensive.
Does anyone have any advice or subjections on how to tackle this? I need him to have at least one meal delivered a day but neither of us can afford it.
Any help or advice would be appreciated.
