So after getting really excited with that trailer, I started thinking about what we know of the movie, and I have a theory.

Tokustars don’t exist in the reboot.

Hear me out. -we know the omnitrix can fuse dna together. -we know the omnitrix can be modified and controlled more than Ben knows. -we know ben will meet azimuth in the movie. -we know ben will encounter a good number of powerful new alien threats. -we know ben will be traveling to multiple new locations.

-Cartoon Network loves to market toys. You know what toy doesn’t get much love in the show? The alien creation chamber/series. And the Omni swap heroes.

-one of the tracks in the movies soundtrack is called “birth of the new alien”

So my theory is, Ben meets azimuth, azimuth bears that vilgax is taking over the earth. Azimuth decides ben needs something new, something vilgax won’t see coming, can’t see coming. So he sends ben out to sample new dna from powerful fighters. The same way gax was vilgax’s power, Ben will have to contain the powers of a number of villains, likely the group from the null void, so that azimuth can combine the samples into a brand new alien who can face vilgax with whatever power-up that red glow is.
