So I was thinking about the reboot omnitrix’s functionality and I think I figured out what actually caused the Omni enhancements.

So we know they are caused by energy leaking from the shock rock dna pod, but why does that create weapons and stuff like heatblasts wing pack? Wouldn’t an infection of outside dna cause a fusion alien, as was shown several times during the series including the special where the enhancements were explained? That’s when it hit me.

The Omni enhancements weren’t the shock rock form leaking into the other dna, it was leaking into the OMNITRIX ITSELF. Specifically, it was acting as a sort of malfunctioning placeholder FOR THE OMNI KIX KEY!

think about it, the kix armors are armor, meant to enhance the abilities of the alien when used properly, but without the key, and being powered by the wrong source, it could mess up. Instead of full suits of metal armor tailored to each alien, it made partial suits of fulmini armor with the functions randomized! Heatblast’s wings, greymatters stretchy limbs, diamondheads energy absorbtion, etc. May have been functions that would’ve been meant to show up as armor on different aliens, ie enhancing a flying aliens speed, but were assigned to the armors of the wrong forms since the control key wasn’t activated properly.

This would also explain why the enhanced forms didn’t affect bens time limit like the kix armors do. The kix armors are powered by the watches limited energy supply, but the enhancements were powered by the unlimited energy of shock rock’s dna

TLDR: between upgrading the watch without knowing all its functions and unlocking the unstable fulmini pod, the Omni kix function was partially activated, pulling the fulmini dna out in place of the metal armor, and also powering it from there.
