Just started Season 6

Like the title says and I just need to know if Lexi ever redeems herself at all. 6 episodes in and I've yet to see any redeeming qualities. Start out saying she doesn't mention her pageant time but it's the first thing out her mouth. Then bragging about a 8k a month what condo? First of all, that's insanity to me. Secondly, if she's so rich, why even do this job? And did she ever come to realize that the bosun is over her in ranking?
