I have an opportunity to visit Belize for a few weeks and stay with some people that I know.
I've never been to Belize and don't really know too much about it.
The visiting window is small and I was just wondering if anyone could suggest some places to visit. I did notice some ecological reserves while scanning the map. I enjoy hiking and I was wondering if hiking in January is doable (I think it's about 20C there now) and how I would do that. Can I go solo (I would prefer not to)? Are there hiking groups somewhere online? Is it an organized tour type of thing? Any tips would be very much appreciated.
Also, what's the safety like for a woman travelling solo?
I'm not really a frequenter of bars, so what other social type events are available that you would recommend?
Thanks for any help and tips you can provide.
