From a non Mal owner. I used to get my Pyrenees clearance fleece blankets from Fred Meyer, after the holidays, for about $4 each.
I showed him that these were for shredding, and we would spend so much time playing tug and ripping them apart! We both had so much fun doing it, and we would hold onto the pieces until they were basically gone.
This also taught him that there were things for destroying and things not for destruction. I'd tell him, "Not this one."
