First time Mal owner! Any breed specific advice?

Not my first dog by a long shot but my first Mal. Goal is to show him and do rally o.
Any breed specific advice, especially for the puppy phase? I've only had labs/golden retrievers who were so friendly as pups I never worried about socializing them.

My Aunt put jingle bells on my cousins shoes so.she could hear him when he was moving, and when he wasn't. Not a bad idea!
