And it's not by me, being a foster failure just isn't an option right now.
However, where she's going is super exciting! There's a lady with 4 Belgian Malinois that lives on an acreage. She sent over her integration plan and it sounds absolutely stellar. I'm incredibly stoked because she'll thrive in that environment but I'm also sad that she's leaving. She's been a big part of my life for the last month and I've fallen in love with everything that she is. I'm going to miss her dearly. I hope that this adopter let's me visit her once in a while. (Although, I'm not against taking her back if it doesn't work out!)
Our journey has been a quick but awesome one. She's gained 13 lbs and you can no longer see her ribs or hips, tons of muscle. Her leash manners are a lot better. We can pass people no problem. Dogs still cause a bit of anxiety but she's not actively trying to get at them, just extremely interested and we quickly walk by before she gets too up there. She moves on pretty nicely and refocuses on the walk. We've gone into the vet with no issues and the pet store we frequent she's really good as well. Little grumbles and small barks at people just coming into the store, but she almost is taking treats from the employees there (she slmost gets there then thinks wait, you're a stranger so I must bark), so big progress! She loves to run and she's usually pulling me on the bike! She's learned "right" and "left" for turning on the bike and "slow" for intersections. The weirdest thing about her: coughing or sneezing sends her into a frenzy of excitement and rushes to grab her ball cause that's her cue for play time?
Damn... I'm really going to miss her and the chaos she brought. The experience taught me a lot and I'm making the decision to put off owning a German Shepherd until my kid (16) moves out. Kidlet doesn't like chaos and puppies are chaos. So, it'll be a couple more years before I get a GSD or any other dog, which is okay. I'm going to save up for a few things that'll make my life easier owning a big, high energy dog in the mean time.
Thanks to everyone who's helped me in this amazing journey! Love to all of your pups! ❤️
Her smile is so big the top of her head is almost falling off... lol
