Preferably where I won't be a pariah for not giving a fuck about any kind of football, cricket, or cars – as has been my experience everywhere that ends in 'Tavern' or 'Club'. I can handle being labelled 'a p******' for wearing chinos, but if I have to fumble my way through one more conversation about how whichever Bulldogs did or didn't do, I'm going to lose my gouram mind.

After 2 days, here is what we've learnt:

1. There is no single place or set of places to meet alternative women in North Canberra. So, I guess, one must return to first principles: find and attend events of (hopefully) mutual interest, then hope, pray, manifest, and/or pack your gris-gris for the chance that the women one talks to are actually even interested in meeting someone.
2. Feeld is an app better suited to matching people of alternative interests and has improved significantly since its early adoption in Australia c.2021. Although it must be said that Feeld does still appear to run on an ELO-style game, even if it allows some non-zero-sum actions like scrolling and refreshing the feed to change the nature of its competition. While FetLife remains concurrently a useful, yet much maligned platform for kinky people and BDSM enthusiasts in Canberra.
3. And finally, those of us of a certain age still mourn the local goth scene.
