Been making some shillelaghs recently. Came across an antler when out hiking and put this together. Let me know what you think.

Post Body

As per the title, I've been making blackthorn walking sticks and shillelagh's recently. My grandfather used to make them and I decides to do it in his honour.

I harvested a pile of Blackthorn about 2 years ago and have straightened out quite a few of them.

The shank is filed beneath the collar, and a long screw is in situ about 3 inches down the shank and 1.5 inches into the antler. Epoxy'd also for extra sturdiness.

Some matt varnish over both the shank and handle, about 2 coats. Will give it 2 or 3 more as I love the matt finish.

I'm born and bred in Ireland, and there isn't many shillelagh makers locally (I'm in the west) so I thought why not.

Let me know what you guys think, thanks.
