Post Body

Hello all,

My wife just have birth to our baby girl and it has me thinking about shop safety. I was debating getting a bandsaw for resaw purposes and assisting with tenons but our baby has me considering getting a saw stop instead. I don’t want to lose any digits and I currently have a skill table saw. It works well but the fence is hard to square to the top and gives when pushing against it.

I intend to build smaller furniture items like nightstands while also making jewelry boxes.

Does anyone here have a saw stop contractor? I’ve resawn on my skil table saw but it was sketchy because the fence gave a bit in the middle. I realize it’s also a sketchy cut.

Do you guys think I should go with a saw stop (I know it’s crazy expensive but I value my digits) or will a bandsaw be a better fit for needs. People say they’re pretty safe when setup properly.

Thanks
