When using either a push -or pull saw notice the reflection in the saw blade. If the reflection is skewed the saw is out of square. A continuing line(s) between the work piece and the reflection is your reference point to stay as square as possible.
Of course there are many many valuable tips, like using a square, a scribe and/or a marking gauge or marking knife, establishing a knife wall etc.
But if you donβt have other tools, and you just need a somewhat square cut quick, use a pencil/knife and the 90/45 degree feature on a push-saw handle for marking the line and the reflection for the cut
