At what point do you think a foamie (Wavestorm) is affecting your ability to improve?
Post Body

I’m trying to decide whether it’s worth getting a “better” board. Honestly, I enjoy my Wavestorm - it’s easy to pop up, I’m not worried about it hurting me, and I have fun riding it. I can do a bottom turn, ride down the line, and turn up and down the wave.

The two elements that I specifically worry that the board affects are 1) generating speed, and 2) making steep drops on 5-6 ft waves. For the first point, I’ve read that the Wavestorm (and foams in general) will typically be slow. For the second point, my local spots are all punchy beach breaks, and even with an angled take off it can be pretty difficult to avoid the nosedive, and I wonder if a midlength with a little rocker would be better.

Enough look rambling! Any opinions/advice is appreciated!
