Mites on my beetle!

So this is my first time caring for a beetle, he is housed separately from the larva I have, but he’s developed these small white mites (barely visible in the photo), I’ve tried removing them gently with a q tip but they keep coming back. Does anyone know if they’re parasites? Anything I can do to help my little buddy?
