There was a very positive response to my last posting looking for bass work on this tune, three users submitted finished bass takes, and now we are ready to lay down guitar.
Currently we have u/eugeneweemich on drums and u/mrtitkins on bass.
Now I'm reaching out to all you who dig heavily on the legendary David Gilmour, and if you're by some chance reading this yourself Mr Gilmour and feel like jumping in, well, that'd be highly satisfactory.
Unlike previous requests of mine on this song, for guitar I have a fairly strong vision of what needs to be played when. There is still an open ended section for you to do you without micromanaging though!
We are aiming for Gilmour style bottleneck slide on an electric guitar. Some nice and crunchy, some not so overdriven. Check out the 1st two songs from Meddle, this is our inspiration.
One of These Days: (screaming overdrive) https://youtu.be/48PJGVf4xqk.
A Pillow of Winds: (more mournful) https://youtu.be/uThZ1uuLLWM
Now check out the very old demo of our tune here, scroll forward to 2:20: https://m.soundcloud.com/seansessionmusician/sets/wip-a-little-bit-of-wonder/s-l766y
Sloppy old high school demo but those licks, in pretty much the same spot need to be replicated and improved on. After the declarative stuff you have a nice open space to play around in. Recurring triplets would be good. At the outro again it needs to be declarative, just never mind that one really duff note.
If you're excited and in, pm for the full untrimmed version. If you track to it everything lines up. I'll also give you specific pointers with specific timestamps, and production notes. Basically somethings need to be single tracked and some double tracked for that ultra wide ear candy experience.
Thanks a million guys! Keep rocking on and I'll see you on the dark side of the moon!
