what products/techniques reduce the credibility of a beauty guru?

for me, whenever i see someone using farsali i automatically trust their reviews less, especially when they let it run down their face before rubbing it in. iām convinced that no one outside paid beauty gurus use it because it has no real benefits and its ridiculously expensive.
any others?
