Hoping someone with a DDJ-SX3 can help me with hooking up speakers
Post Body

Hello,

I'm realizing there are a couple of ways I can have my studio monitors and sub hooked into my DDJ-SX3 and wondering if the way I have them wired is correct. Please talk to me like I'm 5 and don't assume I understand anything.

Here's how I have it set up now:

Sub - hooked into "Master 1 left" with an XLR

Stage right speaker - hooked into "Master 1 right" with an XLR

Stage left speaker - hooked into "balanced right" on the sub.

All the speakers are playing, but I totally just guessed at the hookups until it played. For instance, if I plug the stage left speaker in "balanced left" on the sub, the speaker doesn't play. Why?

The problem is I used to have it hooked up differently. Then I rented a sound system and could NOT get it to play. I eventually moved things around until I could get sound out of all speakers, but have no idea how I did that. I also realized in the process that I have no idea the correct way to do this and realize I may be jeopardizing sound quality or maybe not even getting stereo sound if I don't do it correctly.

Simple, detailed instructions if my current set up is wrong, MOST appreciated. If anything I'm describing isn't clear please ask and I'm happy to clarify. I've watched a ton of videos but they just say things like "hook the mixer up to the sub." I need something that is specific to the DDJ SX-3.

Thank you!
