I emailed their support yesterday, who forwarded me to the sales team who responded with the following:
Unfortunately, the DDJ-400 has been discontinued. Please check out our website for our current lineup of products. https://www.pioneerdj.com/en-us/
Yep. I gave up on retail and Reverb, any seller with history was 2k . Took a while to find one on eBay but just kept at it and one eventually popped up. If one comes up in your price range from a well-reviewed seller you have to move quick.
I paid 1500 for the DDJ-1000 on ebay. That about 200 over “retail”, but once you figure in the cost of shipping, and that no real stock has been available for over a year, I was able to rationalize it.
I hope like hell they don’t take things in a flx direction with lower build quality and more gimmicks. People use Pioneer for a reason, and it’s not that they are at the bleeding edge. It’s about the reliability and the compatibility. Not a lot of time to fuck around at the pro level once you stick that usb in. Shit just has to work.

That was kinda my thought. Just finally got a 1000 off eBay, but will prob hang onto the 400 for traveling and backup.
