Hi,
I'm trying to be more cognizant of sound levels when I'm mixing, but I'm confused. Here are the variables as I see them. I have Serato and a controller connected to two speakers and a sub.
Volume controls: 1. On the speakers 2. The master volume on the controller 3. The trim on each channel 4. The volume control of each song on Serato 5. Fader for each channel
Meters: 1. One for each channel for serato 2. Master meters on controller 3. meters for each channel on the controller
I keep reading "don't redline." But where? Serato meters often redline for me. The ones on the controller do not.
I do think I hear some clipping and distorting, but should I turn the volume down on the Serato control? The trim? Master?
Does anyone have a good tutorial on this or a clear way to learn this topic? Thanks!
