TLDR: Beginner DJ looking for a speaker for learning to DJ in my bedroom and also for small backyard parties. Originally tried the Adam T5V and hated it - budget is 1k but hoping to stay in the $600 range if possible.
Hi all,
I recently got a FLX4 and am looking for a speaker to learn to DJ and to use at small (15-20 people) parties. The common advice on Reddit for new DJs was to go with a studio monitor like the Rokit 5 or T5V. I bought the Adam T5V and hated it - the music sounded flat and lifeless. I am not sure if I had something wrong with my setup or whether this is just the nature of all monitor speakers, but I returned the Adam T5V and am looking for something else now.
I will mostly be using it for house and pop music. Budget is up to $1000 if necessary, but would prefer to keep in closer to $600. I'm no audiophile, just looking for something that will deliver good volume/bass and be a few steps up from a bluetooth speaker.
Thanks
