If you could only use one transition technique, what would it be?
Post Body

Maybe a stupid question, but interested in hearing what people’s “default” transition technique would be.

Let me know what genre it’s for.

For me, with house music, I’ve found a lot of success with taking out all the lows and mids (sometimes less) and turning the filter knob all the way down for the track I’m mixing in. Then slowly (or quickly) move the filter knob up to reveal the next track. Then I will swap the EQ’s either slowly over a phrase or quickly at phrase changes. I’ll also often slowly filter out what’s left of the old track after that.

Find myself using this for the large majority of transitions. I do use some different techniques when it make sense, but the one mentioned is the primary one.

Just trying to get a sense if people are doing something widely different as their primary type of transition.
