Rev-7/motorized platters question.
Post Body

Hey all,

I’m doing my first gig on a controller other than my own Friday. I use a Pioneer DDJ-SX3. The controller I will be using for the gig is a Rev-7.

I’ve been watching tutorials and looking at the manual to prepare and I’m realizing I don’t understand how the motorized platters work.

I don’t scratch at all so that element is not needed. However, I don’t understand how the motorization affects things.

  1. Can you turn this off? I’d prefer not to have the platters moving since I’m not used to this

  2. If not, how does this affect beatmatching visually? If I start a track and it’s a little off tempo, do I just adjust the platter as I would with my SX3? Or will the fact that the platter is moving make things different somehow?

Thanks, I’m a little nervous about using a different controller for the first time in my life in front of a crowd and would like to be as prepared as possible.
