Burrowing clay

Hello all, I was wondering what are some concerns using the clay burrowing substrate. Iām moving my beardie to a new, bigger tank and I was looking at what I can use. Iām leaning more to a tile substrate but I was also wondering if I can do half tile and half clay?.
