Connect. Dance. Love. #23 Sign Up Sheet
We are excited to announce our DJ line up for Connect. Dance. Love. on May 6.
Dirty Plates (Daniel Cook)
Based on our January event, it's likely that the** event will sell out**, so please RSVP early to ensure a space.
Starting with the May 6 event, guests will no longer be required to have Covid vaccinations to attend. We will continue to require Covid testing at the door or immediately before the event.
Why this change? Vaccinations are a critical strategy to lessen the severity of Covid symptoms, and we continue to encourage everyone to be vaccinated. Yet increasingly it seems that vaccinated and unvaccinated people contract Covid at similar rates, so the risk of being unvaccinated falls on the folks who have decided to forego vaccination rather than on those who are vaccinated. Moreover, the official state of emergency for Covid ended in California in February, and it will end at the federal level in May. Given the lack of difference in transmission rates and the end of the official emergency, now seems the right time to end the vaccination requirement.
This change will be welcomed by some people, and will likely be difficult for others. We recognize that there is no vaccination policy that will work for everyone, but now seems the right time to make this change.
What's it like:
More of a hippie burner crowd. With an emphasis on connection. The evening usually starts out with a play party workshop. Highly recommended for those who have never been to a play party before. You'll learn about consent culture, do's, and dont's, and have the opportunity to ask any questions.
Followed by the Pre-Event Class. This is usually an organized group icebreaker where the host takes you through a number of collaborative exercises to help you loosen up.
There is then an opening ceremony that welcomes everyone. Alongside some final ground rules.
Then Roughly around 8:30 - 9:00 PM the music starts and you're left to your own devices.
DJs are consistently really good. And keep the energy pretty well on the up and up throughout the night.
Who shows up:
In my personal experience, I've found the crowd to be fairly attractive. The event is very inclusive. You'll see couples, singles with friends, gays, lesbians, and straight, trans folks, all races etc.
Everyone is required to show up with a PAL (Perverted Acontability Liasion). It pretty much means that nobody comes to CDL alone, and each person is responsible for the person they came with. Itβs like a buddy system for perverts.
The vibe is chill. People are very friendly and open to communication.
