Happy Summer r/bayareahookups!! Not a lot to cover in this post, but it felt like a good time to give an update.

• We added a new moderator over the winter. Goldie has been a huge help for getting your posts approved from the mod queue so I want to publicly acknowledge them today.
• We do still need some volunteers around here to moderate the feed and mod mail. I may pin it, but if you want to help out, please check my post history to find that post.
• The original creator of this sub-Reddit has apparently stopped using Reddit, has also not taken any moderator actions here in approx 12 months so we are considering his profile abandoned now. This won't have any effect on posters, but we will be taking actions to have the creator removed as moderator of the sub by the end of this month.
• Scammers are starting to follow the rules here and that means it is getting more difficult to find/ban them. If you encounter a scammer after making contact, please do everyone else a favor by reporting the post to us.
• In case you have not noticed, we are growing and the quality of posts is much better in 2023 compared to previous years.
• We also have a new trend of upvoting posts which is great to see (vs what was happening not too long ago). Thanks to all of you!!
• Finally, we are still not responding to most mod mail messages, but this will hopefully change when we get more moderators.
