Was playing GA as First Order on Jakku, we were steamrolling them because it was only like 12v10. When we got to the very last objective, blowing up the last transport, we would set the charge and then a few seconds later it would disarm.
There were no Rebels anywhere near the transport to disable it. This happened repeatedly for about 10 minutes. Everyone was taking turns repeatedly arming the bomb, but it being disabled. Sometimes it would get about 20 seconds into it, then reset, but mostly it was within about 3 seconds.
We still had about 80 tickets left, so it was going to be a slow and painful ticking down of the clock until the game finished. I got killed and spawned as Darth Maul. I happened to do a spin jump at the transport and killed someone (someone who definitely wasn't there). After that, the bomb armed fine and we won.
Now, the person that I killed had a ridiculously high score compared to the rest of the team (about 12k, vs about 4k for the rest, and he only had 3 kills). I, myself, had bumped up my score by repeatedly trying to arm the bomb (500pts each time).
My theory is, this person was somehow cheating by standing next to the bomb and disabling it, each time we armed it, but they must have been invisible and invulnerable to blasters/bombs (many of us had been blowing the area to shit to try and 'fix' whatever was wrong). They were seemingly not invulnerable to spin jumps, however.
Has anyone come across anything similar? Is there a glitch being exploited? Any other explanations? I guess it could just have been a bugged game, it's just very suspicious that me killing that one "invisible" guy is what let us trigger the bomb properly.
