Would really like to send a huge shout out to DICE for the optimization work put into BF1. I realize that with Vulkan/DX12, games will run better, but for a game to look this stunning and perform decently at 4K is astonishing. The game's 4K performance is miles ahead of what I experienced on BF3 and BF4.
My recommended settings were 4K@Medium (save for AA which was at max) and I was thinking "Wow. I'll get 10fps." But was quite surprised to see numbers above 40 during typical gameplay. For comparison, in BF3, my rig pulls about 40fps during 1440p on medium, so the optimization difference is night and day for me. While I can run the game at QHD/60fps, I'm fine with high 40s (with dips into the high 30s when stuff hits the fan) to appreciate BF1s beauty.
Sys Specs for those curious.
CPU: FX 6300 @ 3.7
GPU: PowerColor MYST Edition PCS R9 380x @ 1110MHz core (Don't quote me. Not at my system and can't check) and 1550MHz VRAM.
8GB of Crucial Ballistix Sport
Kingston V300/WD Blue (7200 version)
AsRock 980de3... Motherboard
Monitor: Samsung (some weird model number) 27" curved 1080p display. Yes, I'm using VSR.
Again I'd just like to thank DICE for the wonderful work they've done!
