Having issue playing BR

I have been having an issue since this patch playing battlerite on my laptop I can play it just fine on my desktop and could do the same on this laptop about a week ago however now I am encountering a slow down when I open battlerite I have tried disabling the steam overlay reducing the graphical quality everything but the menus just seem to want to move in slow motion for some reason. Did something happen over the last patch that might have been the cause for this?
