Did Joker kill Jason the night Asylum takes place? Because I’m replaying Asylum now, and Batman is more calm, much more “emotionally available.” Like he chuckles at some stuff Oracle says, he has more light voice inflections, and he just seems all around more high spirited. He doesn’t seem to really be mourning anyone, but Joker offers him Harley if he can get to her without being seen and says “Hell, looks like you could use a new sidekick.” Which means Jason must be missing, but “died” that night or shortly after. I say this because in City, it says after this game, Joker and Harley are caught, but escape custody and try to make it back to Arkham Island, but they capsize and wash up on the shores of Arkham City. So there’s no time then to “kill” Jason. In Arkham Knight he even says “I was soooo close.” And “he kept me locked up in that abandoned wing of Arkham FOR A YEAR.” Which means it was just the wing that was abandoned while the facility was up and running. Mainly because no one had been on Arkham Island while City was in effect, Bruce Wayne bought it and paid for security (which leads to another theory I have about what would have happened in another Arkham game had we gotten one) the timeline doesn’t quite match though since Joker shows Jason a pic of Bruce and Tim to show him Batman “moved on.”
