I'm trying to relearn how to play. I used to in high school, but I broke my hand pretty bad in a car accident 14 years ago.
I have a screw in my left hand, my fretting hand, and my middle finger now naturally tucks over my ring finger. I am doing alright for just picking back up, but my hand still causes issues. I do have a little bit of mobility issue, and it's hard to stretch it comfortably to hold the frets. I also sometimes hit the other strings with the fucked up finger, which doesn't sound great.
Does anyone else have a similar injury and still play? Do you have any advice on what could help? My mom said it might help as a kind of physical therapy, but so far it just hurts. I really want to play with my boyfriend, a guitarist, after I get back up to speed, but I need to figure out a work around my claw hand first so I can get there.
