Recording at home, Do you even need an active bass for an active sound?
Post Body

Dear Bassists, Can you plug a passive bass, into an audio interface and make it sound like an active bass. I'm really debating what bass to buy, but since I'm not playing any gigs or anything. I really started to wonder... Is it worth buying an active bass? They seem to be more expensive in general, which is fine, if its worth it. I love the sounds of an active bass. Specifically, I was looking at the SR605E and the TRBX304. I was thinking obviously I'm attracted to these sounds. But, active basses are just like a pre-amp built into the instrument right? Maybe I have the wrong idea of what an active bass is since they have active pickups, so maybe its not that simple. Please. I'm kinda new to that whole technical side of bass.
