Hi. I bought recently Galli Flatwounds from Thomann for my Squier Cv 70's Precision bass. I installed flatwounds for the first time in my life. I dont know if its honeymoon period but the tone is really good. I was thinking they would have a dead tone from the start but no. Its rich, solid in the low end and the highs are expensive sounding. These have more highs then dead rounds just a bigger sound. And the feel is amazing. A bit sticky but I got used to it. The tension is a bit higher but not much more than a standard 45-105 rounds. I took it to my luthier friend and did all the truss rod, string height, intonation, pickup height setup. Overall very good experience with flatwounds and they are just cool feeling sounding strings. Thanks for reading.
